Have you always been in real estate? If no, what’s your background?
Yes, about three weeks after finishing my last HSC exam I went to the McGrath Academy and got my certificate of registration and within that time secured a job in the network under one of their top performing agents. During school I did a variety of labouring jobs and worked a bit in the IT space in school holidays.

Why real estate?
I have always loved property and architecture so that side of the business was just natural. On top of that I love meeting new people and get great satisfaction from helping them achieve their goals.

What made you want to become an agent?
I trialed work experience in a local real estate agency and from that point I was hooked. I just loved the art of putting a sale together and being able to get out and about meeting people vs sitting behind a desk all day long. From work experience, I went onto build some connections and line up a job for when I left school and haven’t looked back since.

What qualities do you think you need to be a great agent?
There are a few, but a couple to focus on would be integrity and the ability to negotiate under high pressure. Our key role is to be able to negotiate and as an agent I always ensure to hold myself to a high standard in regards to integrity, people really appreciate that.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?
I absolutely love a great auction, the build-up and then achieving a great result for our clients is always so satisfying to watch whether it is one of my own auctions or one of the team I just love being a part of it.

What are three things you couldn’t live without?
My phone, the beach and my family.

Where is your favourite place in the world? Whether it’s your couch at home or a cafe?
Since I was 7, as a family we have always traveled to a family friend’s farm during holidays down the far south coast around Eden. I love working with my hands and spending time by the water and just find it a great way to relax and recharge for work.

Do you have a secret talent? If so what is it?
I am very mechanically minded and can fix a lot of thing just by taking them apart and understanding how they work, then resolve the issue and put them back together.

What do you love most about MB?
I love the standards we hold ourselves to from our internal compliance to our professionalism and how we conduct ourselves at opens. On top of this, it is the culture of the team. No individual is greater than all of us combined and we really just work as a slick unit to do what we do. When I used to look at the company from the outside I always was impressed and now being here for some time I can understand why.
