Have you always been in real estate? If no, what’s your background?
No, I haven’t always been in real estate. I’ve worked as a personal trainer, I’ve worked in retail, and in international marketing.

Why real estate?
The real estate industry is constantly transforming and developing technologically which is really interesting. Furthermore, after studying Mandarin I feel that I have the ability to better represent both buyers and vendors whom may see the advantage in me being bilingual.

What made you want to become an agent?
I think an agent is a much more hands on personal role where you are at the core of strategy, strategy being the factor that drives the ultimate result of the campaign. I feel like my interpersonal skills and my language skills enable me to drive that outcome. Also I just love working with people and helping them get to where they want to go next. To me, it’s not just about property. There is so much more involved when people are transitioning into a new stage in their life. The transaction is one part of it, but dealing with people and making it stress-free in the process is another. It's more than just the final figure, although that’s still very important!

What qualities do you think you need to be a great agent?
I think that timing and patience in negotiations as well as the lead up to auction or post auction day is definitely a crucial skill. You need to understand the process, but also the people involved and that only comes from a multitude of experience and keeping up to date with how the industry is constantly improving, transforming and changing. I feel like a lot of agents have grown stagnant and rely on old forms of selling and I feel that the industry has developed and become much more people based and genuine. I think that those that aren’t moving along are really falling behind.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?
To be honest with you, my favourite part of the job is negotiating! Negotiating a deal, 100%. I think ultimately it’s the crux of the matter, it’s what you are there to do. At the end of the day, negotiation plays such an important role in the result that you get and getting that result is why you are chosen as agent. Whilst it can be a lot of pressure, I strive on it!

What’s the most fun you’ve ever had at work?
I don’t really know, there's not one particular thing that stands out. Meeting and helping lots of different people everyday, that’s fun to me.

What are three things you couldn’t live without?
The outdoors and adventures are big ones for me, a good laksa, and time with family.

So where in Sydney is the best laksa?
At the top of Belrose Supercenter, there is an Asian restaurant that does the best laksa!

Where is your favourite place in the world? Whether it’s your couch at home or a cafe?
Locally, I’d have to say Bobbin Head! It's a great place to get some fresh air and get away from the hustle and bustle sometimes. Or Drakensberg, a mountain range in South Africa where I love to go hiking, it would probably have to be my favourite place in the world!

Do you have a secret talent? If so, what is it??
A secret talent… Probably being able to cook some good and authentic Chinese meals.

What do you love most about MB?
I love how closely aligned the team are. They are cutting edge, fast paced and strategy focused. They are also highly ethical which is super important to me!
