My experience selling with McConnell Bourn was very positive. James Matheson was extremely communicative and transparent with the selling methods he used throughout the campaign. He was respectful and I appreciated this level of communication. I trusted his opinion and level of expertise, particularly as he was quite open about the fact that he readily accessed his colleagues’ opinions and expertise as well, a true collaborative effort. The final result wasn’t exactly what we were looking for, however it was fair and I felt James was upfront about the decisions to be made, which made me feel confident in making the final decision to sell and accept the offer I did. Having experienced an extremely stressful “passed in” auction campaign in 2014, Melinda and I were both very cautious about selecting a new agent to handle the sale of our house, the second time around. I think overall, your assessment and guidance on how to present and market the property was the standout difference between the two campaigns. The coordination between your office, the styling team and the landscape gardener resulted in the property presenting at an amazingly high level in both print and online media. The complete sale process was much more professional and defined than our first campaign. From your initial inspection, market research and planning session, to liaison with buyers, solicitors and the briefing of the auctioneer. At all points during the four week marketing campaign, we felt involved and appreciated the level of feedback that you provided for each open house. As you are aware, I was initially sceptical of spending so much on the styling and marketing campaign. But I am now happy to concede that you were correct, the result on auction day was conclusive. The whole selling process through McConnell Bourn was very professional and extremely stress free. As we live in the UK, we could not be present for the sales and marketing campaign. James Matheson went above and beyond to ensure our house was ready for sale. He advised on and facilitated the painting, laying of new carpets and styling of the property. James even spent time prior to the open for inspection to sweep leaves from the back terrace and pool area to ensure the house was looking its best. James kept us well informed with regular updates and was always happy to call at a time to suit us even though that was well outside the normal business hours in Sydney. Once exchange of contracts took place (at 7pm in the evening in his own home), James immediately phoned us in the UK to let us know. We would not hesitate in recommending McConnell Bourn and James Matheson to anyone considering selling their home.
In short James was terrific. He consistently communicated and offered timely guidance/advice throughout the entire sales process. Never was there a time when we were wondering what was happening or what came next.
